GABE RICHESSON

Gabe grew up in Weston, Missouri and developed a distinct artistic style at an early age. Both sports and art have been a significant influence in his life.  Gabe played sports year-round through high school, excelling in football. Off the field he filled countless sketchbooks with portraits of his favorite athletes.

He attended William Jewell College in Missouri majoring in art. There he learned to paint while playing football, lettering all four years and ending as team captain. Injuries and his 40 yard dash time helped him realize that his career in art should get his total focus. After college, he attended the Art Institute of Dallas which lead to a job at Beckett Publications as a designer and art director. Before he left Beckett, he was responsible for 6 different sports publications and the design teams that produced them.

Eventually Richesson's love and affinity for sports lead him to the custom portrait world. In 2005, Richesson was commissioned by DeAngelo Hall to do several paintings for his home and more athletes followed. Soon he was painting full time creating colorful, intricately detailed portraits for many celebrated sports professionals. He has worked with athletes like Peyton Manning, Vernon Davis, Terrell Suggs and Brock Lesnar. He currently resides in Alamo, California with his wife Kirsten, daughter Elle and his dog, Bones.
